I'm Denise, the owner of and maker behind Captain Mama Creates. I've been creating things as long as I can remember. I come from a long line of quilters and crafters, and my mom taught me to sew and crochet at a young age.

The Captain Mama Creates name is courtesy of my then-three year old and my mom. I've had a dream to start a little business for a long time now, but struggled to find a name that fit. One summer, while out fishing together, my husband briefly had me steer the boat. Our little guy was sitting with his Grammy when he saw this, and they dubbed me Captain Mama. The name stuck.
